DON'T IGNORE SATAN! You should have in mind what he makes and protect yourself by praying and going to church!

Do Not Believe In Him. He Lives Through Evil.

*edit, I think it should be noted, that this answer is a little unclear, and that not believing in him, can be dangerous. One of Satan's most effective tools is confusion through lies and "half-truths".

I think I know what you're trying to say, and correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe that Satan is real and constantly attacks us because he hates the Humanity and the fact that GOD loves us so much even though we don't deserve it.

He is completely consumed by his jealously towards us that his mission and purpose is to destroy us, by separating us or obstructing us from the joy and peace we have in a relationship with GOD.

So, I think a clearer and more concise way to phrase your answer would be...

that we should not live in fear of Satan, but rather only with a healthy respect for him as a "relatively" strong opponent.

God says to us in HIS word, The Bible, that we can live in victory since the battle is already decided.

We may lose battles along the way, but the WAR is DECIDED. GOD has always been in control from the get go, and HE will always be.

Balance is the key.

You want to be aware enough of Satan, that you are not leaving yourself open to his attacks, but also...

You want to be always reminding yourself that calling on GOD when attacked or tempted, in addition to speaking his word to rebuke Satan, is %100 effective in...

COMPLETELY SHUTTING HIM DOWN,

until the next time at least.

Answer

No mere human can contend against Satan in their own strength. Jesus used the word of God. This is a pattern for those who would contend with darkness. A good starting point is to deal with darkness in our own lives first, since Satan, being a wise and patient observer of humankind for centuries knows mans inherent pride and sinfulness.

Persons who wish to disbelieve in Satan will obviously not be interested in fighting him. He already has them where he wants them.

Answer

By following God.

Answer

Prayer and rebuke through scripture are THE ONLY WEAPONS we have as individual human beings and believers.

The beautiful thing is that THEY ARE THE ONLY WEAPONS WE NEED.

So, on a practical level, what should we do when attacked or tempted?

Pray and recite scripture.

We cannot, ON OUR OWN, defeat him, but GOD need only have the whim, and Satan is defeated.

GOD in us shuts Satan out.

Answer:

You fight spirits by not Wrestling with them. God's Word says to "put on the armour of God" and let Him do the fighting for you.

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil." (Eph.6:11)

The armour of God is:

* His TRUTH (the Bible; thy Word is Truth - John 17:17)...

* wearing the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS (obedience to the Ten Commandments: "...for all thy Commandments are righteousness" - Ps.119:172.)...

* having your feet shod with the preparation of the GOSPEL of PEACE (retaining the knowledge and hope of the Good News of the coming Kingdom of God - Mark 1:15. "How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things - Rom.10:15 & Isa.52:7. Being instantly ready to share the good news of the Kingdom.)...

* shielded by His FAITH (with child-like innocence and trust, believing in what God's Word says... not letting the words of carnal minded men to dissuade you. "...without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." - Heb.11:6.)...

* wearing the helmet of SALVATION (the knowledge, understanding and hope in the minds and hearts of the gift of eternal life that awaits the ones who don't surrender to the spirits. "...for we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope... but if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." - Rom.8:24-25. "...It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord." - Lam.3:26.)...

* and wielding the SWORD of the Spirit, which is THE WORD OF GOD ("...for the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart." - Heb.4:12. The Bible, God's Word, is both an offensive weapon [a sword] and defensive equipment [girt about the loins]. The Truth of it is comforting and protecting to those who trust it. And in the hands of those properly trained in Truth, it can be devastating. Jesus' temptation by the spirit, Satan, was a "war of Words." Satan quoted the Bible... and Jesus quoted back. In the end, the Word of God said: "...Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve. THEN THE DEVIL LEAVETH HIM..." - Matt.4:10-11.)

For the most part, don't give the unclean and familiar spirits your time. To do so is an invitation for them to visit you. It's dangerous business of which most people are unaware. Yet, spirits are real. Human emotions, love, hate and everything in between are spirit... and these can summon other kinds of spirits.

That's when, if we must, fight"fire with fire"... or "spirit with Spirit."

You fight spirits by not wrestling with them. You let the armour of God fight for you even as it protects you. The flesh is no match for spirits... but they must obey the Word of God.

"...take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." (Eph.6:13)

Demons, if they exist, are supernatural creatures. So you cannot directly fight them since they lack bodies to fight.

If you do encounter demons, the best you can hope for is that they leave. However, the options here are limited, since the Catholic Church no longer does exorcisms. Instead, they refer anyone who believes they are suffering from demons to a mental health practitioner.

If you believe you are troubled by Satan and demons, you have two options:

  1. Ask a priest to help you; or
  2. Believe that Satan and demons do not really exist.

  • The first option is fraught and leaves you open to manipulation, so make sure this is someone you trust;
  • The second option is both possible and rational if you have faith that Satan and demons do not really exist. Remember that no one has ever proven that they do exist.
