All these things are burned and the heat is used to boil water, which the steam from it is used to turn turbines to generate energy.

In science biomass is the most accurate measurement of the weight of an organism. As you may be aware most of the human body, about 70%, is water present in our renal system, circulatory system and in our cells; well this is the same with most living organisms and plants. The true weight of something cannot be determined unless all of this water is removed. This is the process of getting a biomass, the organism is dried out to remove all of water, thus in effect the true weight of the organism is given. The only real downside of this process is when it concerns living organisms, animal, rather than those from the plant kingdom, as the organism must be dead in order to find it biomass which is not preferable. yea it also is renewable. Hope this helps, Chloe
Biomass (with the rare exception of hydrothermal vent organisms) starts with photosynthesis, which is the creation of organic compounds by the use of energy from light (normally sunlight). Organisms which do this can then be eaten by other organisms, who can in turn be eaten by other organisms and so forth, giving rise to complex food chains. All organisms are composed of biomass, which is to say, biological matter.
Biomass may come from photosynthesis: growing of plant matereial. The energy needed for this growths comes from the sun is used to combine the CO2 from the air with water to make carbohydrate and release oxygen.
But more in general: each growing living cell can be called: biomass. For instance yeast growing on sugar (by single cell multiplication) used for bakers yeast production is called biomass production. (then carbohydrate is converted -by oxygen- into CO2 and H2O, remarkably this is the reversed reaction of the -above- photosynthesis!)

Biomass get's its energy from burning things like trees and plants, it then stores the gas from burning the trees and plants and stores it in a large container called a Metabase, then the ashes from the plants and trees are put into a large bowl which is the put into the metabase with the gas, then the metabase is heated up very hot at about 200 degrees, it is here which is where the energy is made, from heating the gas and the ashes of the trees and plants the energy is made and this is all called Biomass.
Biomass is obtained from plant material. This can easily be recovered by hand, and it is considered a viable renewable energy source.
Biomass is organic material that is burnt, usually to generate electricity. So it is found in vegetation, trees, wood chips, even garbage and animal manure.
Eat
biomass!
Nowadays biomass is being reused to form fuel. This is an example using the word biomass.
Biomass is currently in use in many places.
to burn biomass
biomass is renewable
there is not a thing negtive about biomass we need to save biomass it!
its pretty much everywhere. anything containing carbon is biomass. dirt is biomass. poop is biomass. a tree is biomass. you are biomass. so is your dog.. so, yeah; its pretty easy to get your hands on.
what are antonyms for biomass
Biomass is the 'weight' of biological matter. often measured in a biomass pyramid.
