How do you get inside the windmill in ocarina of time?

if your talking about the boss key doors in forest temple, then you need the gale boomerang. you lock it onto the windmills in a Z shape, as shown on the ground. northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast.

if it is to obtain the boss key, you need the Gale Boomerang. If you walk to the gates, you will notice a light path, shaped like a Z. Use your boomerang to trace the path and target them., closest left, closest right, then far left, far right. let the Gale Boomerang go, and hey Presto!!!

Well, the first way is to just go up the stairs that are located right outside the entrance to the graveyard and walk through the door at the top of the stairs.

The second way is to race the Graveyard Keeper as an adult to get the hookshot. Once the race is finished, you end up inside the Windmill where you can jump to get a piece of heart.

There is an opening near the blades of the windmill that I guess would technically could be considered inside the windmill, and to get there, just stand on a rooftop and look into the opening. Position yourself so that you can see a little wooden post inside, then use the Longshot that you get for defeating the Water Temple Mini Boss (Dark Link, or Shadow Link. Whatever. ) Follow the path to get a Piece of Heart.
