Typically covering the doll/pony in baking soda (or kitty litter) and letting it sit for a couple of days should do the trick. If that doesn't work, try boiling the toys (I don't know much of Barbie, but you can do this with MLP though you need to make sure they're not color changing/mechanized/so soft ponies) sometimes with bleach. Vinegar (and boiling with vinegar) have also been reported to get rid of the smell.
