There are a few ways.

Some people spray hairspray on their wet nails. This speeds up drying. At beauty supply stores they sell "nail polish drying spray" which is hairspray labeled for nail polish drying.

You can get ultraviolet lamps that make your nails dry faster, but with regular nail polish, which doesn't have UV curing agents in it, the heat of the lamps is what makes your nails dry faster. (There are nail polishes like CND Shellac that cure under UV light, and if you're using them you must have a lamp at least as powerful as the polish manufacturer calls for.) I think a regular 60-watt light bulb in a table lamp you can bend down so it's about three inches from the table does as good a job.

Alternatively, put your nails in a bowl of ice cold water for about a minute and a half.

Actually the alcohol in hairspray will help it dry fast but it not used right can leave spots on the nails. quick drying nail polish sprays are mostly just alcohol in a spray bottle. If you want to dry your nails just be a little patient. You don't have to risk your beautiful nails.

But if you are really impatient put your hands over a blowing fan or buy a tin of nail dry from your nearest drug store! (boots and superdrug!)

what i do is wait until its almost dry, and to make sure that its fully dry and not going to smudge- i run it under a cold tap for about 60 seconds. this makes sure you don't get the gummy polish that's really easy to smudge and get messy :)

I recommend letting each layer dry first before applying the next one. The entire manicure will dry a lot faster if done this way. It won't take long, allow 10 minutes in between applying layers. I do a lot of nail art and this is my process.

Place your nails in front of a fan, use quick drying top coat (available at drugstores), blow on your nails, fan your nails.

Hair spray does not actually dry it, it wets it then removes it very slowly, and also makes your fingers smell. Thanks for asking, I actually tried it out. xxx

Why does nail polish make some people nails grow faster?

It's not the nail polish itself that makes the nail grow longer, it's the fact the nail bed is protected and is actually strengthened. I find that if I wear a clear or opaque nail varnish over nails they do grow faster because they are protected against breakage etc.
