well there are a couple of tricks you can use. 1; sprinkle salt like 4 inches away from the bottom of it but u have to redoo it every time it dews or like rains. 2; you can buy a bug/pest powder from any gardencenter and you just sprinkle it on. 3; "save the best for last", you take a red plasic cup cut it so it can only hold about an inch of liquid and then fill it with beer.
