One thing that many people forget about when they think of learning is the mental attitude. It's not enough just to sit and listen or read the textbook. You have to want to do better - you have to make the mental change and put some effort into it. Decide to work for that lesson and you'll learn much better than if you just sit around waiting for the lesson to somehow be absorbed by your brain. Keep up with the assignments and ask questions if you don't understand. Take good notes and use those to study with. Start studying for exams a week ahead of time (longer if you have trouble with tests) instead of waiting for the night before the exam. If you put the effort into learning, you'll succeed!
