Select a hardwood branch the right size and shape, sharpen the end - not too narrow or tapered. Soak just the end/tip in water for several hours minimum and then slowly dry over a fire - do not burn the wood, just let the heat dry it out thoroughly. Stop before the wood turns very dark/black. This will harden the wood and help to penetrate.
First you need to be able to chip the rock until it forms a flat point, and then it also needs a groove or merely a chipped shallowing in the centre where the shaft will lie. the wooden shaft should then be split apart at the end, but bound behind the split to stop it from spreading, then insert the rock spearhead into the gap in the shaft end and bind it further around the overlap, using leather, sinew, or just string.
The rest is trial and error really
find a straight piece of wood and sharpen the end. A plane (tool) and a craftknife would probably help.
also it won't work so well unless it's REALLY straight.
Early man used spears by throwing them with their hands in a technique known as spear throwing or thrusting. The force generated by the throw allowed the spear to travel through the air and hit a target at a distance. This hunting method was important for early man in obtaining food and providing protection.
The Homo Habilus first invented the spear, also known as Handy Man.
they used to catch fishes with a spear type tool
early man didn't find fire but make it. they made it with flint and steel.
the spear
The spear-thrower enabled early humans to launch spears with greater accuracy and distance than they could achieve by throwing the spear from their hand. This allowed them to hunt animals with greater ease and precision, and from a greater distance.
Spear Man Looking for Cloths
Yes, "spear" is a noun. It refers to a weapon with a pointed metal head, typically used for thrusting or throwing.
they had stons to make it
Bottom right, between the man with the spear and the man on stilts.
yes. any item that man has modified to make life easier is considered technology. so in other words a sharpened rock on a stick to make a spear is technology. but obviously technology can be more or less advanced, with a modern oven far more advanced than a spear.
