To mute the video in WMM (Windows Movie Maker)
You must be in the Time-line mode of WMM
> Click the + button beside the word Video on the video track
> Right-click the Audio track of this menu
> Click Mute from the menu
Voila! No more audio on the video! You can also use this menu to lower the video volume level, fade the audio in/out, etc. Just remember, the + sign beside the word Video in the Time-line view opens up the menu options specifically for the video in your project.

To mute a video in Windows Live Movie Maker:
> Click on Edit (top menu ribbon)
> Make sure Fade in/Fade out options say: None
> Click on the Video Volume icon (on left side of menu ribbon)
> Move the slider all the way to the very left (to mute icon)
Now there will be no sound to your video.
To Mute a video in WMM (windows movie maker):
> With your video in the Time-line view of WMM
> Click the + button beside the Video track
> Right-click the Audio track
> Select Mute from the menu
Other audio adjustment options are available in this menu as well, including: fade in, fade out, cut, copy, remove, volume level.
Actually its really easy. Click on the video clip you want to mute and click Ctrl+U and click Mute. hope it helped =D
Yes. You simply Mute it. Click the + sign beside the Video track. Click on the audio and mute it.

You can't edit songs in Windows Movie Maker. Any audio editing has to be done on an external audio editing program prior to importation. The most you can do with the audio/song is reduce the volume, mute, fade in/out.
First you have to mute the video's audio in Windows Movie Maker. Once the audio portion of the Video is muted, you can import and drop the desired audio you want to use into the Audio/Music track.

If you only want to play a particular section of an audio file in Windows Movie Maker, you must first Split it and mute portions you don't wish to include.Or you can drag the marker to the desired start (and finish) points.
To mute the music and allow the audio from imported video to play, simply right-click the audio on the Music/Audio track and choose Mute from the menu. This action will Mute the entire audio track unless you have the audio/music 'split' in the area designated to mute.
Censor? As in black out, mute portions?You can't black out parts of the video you don't like, but you can use the Split feature to remove them. And you can Mute the video if there is wording you don't care for. But, that's the most you can do to censor anything in Windows Movie Maker.

To mute the music (for a specific period of time) you will have to Split it on the Time-line view of Windows Movie Maker. > Move the green Advance bar to the point in your project that you want the audio to stop, and the video to start playing. > Click the Split button (beneath Preview pane) > Drag the Advance bar to the right (for the length of the video inserted) > Click the Split button again (where you wish the audio to begin again) > Then, right-click on the 'middle section' and choose Mute from the menu
In Windows Movie Maker, you can Split away the section that contains the foul language and Mute its audio properties. That's the only way to block the language yet retain the video portion.
