On the 2.2L motor, use a 3/8" ratchet and insert it into the tensioner pulley socket (located behind the fan, on the lower left side of the motor). Rotate the pulley counterclockwise (left) as far as it will go. This will free up enough slack to pull the old belt off. Installation is the same. There should even be a routing diagram under the hood to help figure out where the belt goes. I've found it easiest to run the belt on the pulleys that can be reached from above, then crawl underneath and finish sliding the belt on the very bottom. Hope this helps. I have no experience with the 4.3L motor, but it should be the same process. Just find the tensioner pulley and start from there.
