There are few sites for research, the value can be anywhere from $300 - 1200 .
These derringer were made in Models. Model 2 was made from 1867 to 1887 and has the following on the top of the barrel "Remington & Sons, Ilioin, N.Y. - Eliott S Patent DEC 12, 1865" Model 3 were made from 1888 - 1912 and only have "Remington Arms Co., Ilion N.Y." on the top of the barrel. There are 5 variations the type of lettering of the Model 3 and were the first to have received plates gutta-perched. Model 4 differ only by their marking and the site. Model 1 are very rare and don't have an extractor.
The value is based on: 1) condition of the metal, nickel finish intact or non-nickel patina, 2) is the latch and ejector working, 3) the condition and type of grip 4) is the weapon fireable
I would go to the Collectors Firearms website. They can appraise.
Remington did not make a 44 cal double barrel pistol. The did however make a 41 cal (rimfire) the double derringer. (model 95) There's 3 type's, 5 models, and at least 15 variations some of which are quite valuable.
IIRC, they made a model called that.
Depends on (real) type and condition, condition, and condition. I assume you mean a double derringer (model 95)? Where did 1866 come from? A type I model 1 couldn't have a serial that high. (and that's the only one made in 1866) A type I model 2 doesn't have a serial no but a batch no A type II model 3 may or may not have a serial based on which variation it is but that's starting in 1888.
Which a single shot mississippi, split breach, vest, double derringer (model 95), caliber, variation? I'm suspecting your talking a double derringer 41 rimfire but that's likely not even a serial but a batch number. There's over a dozen variations with a HUGE range in value and even that's greatly dependent on condition.
Model 24 is a semi-auto 22.
AnswerNo. In my research into this question, they dont come with a Remington barrel, but they say that the Remington model 11 barrel is interchangeable with the Savage 720, and visa versa. They will not be interchangeable with the Browning A5 barrel.
The Talon model 10 derringer was manufactured by General Precision Corporation in Waterford Ct.
We have SOME original parts for that model, we make others. sales@countrygunsmith.net
The Remington Double Derringer is made in 3 types, 5 modes, and at least 15 variations some of which can make it's value significantly different. HOWEVER they did not ever make one in stainless so possibly you mean nickel finish? The value is based on original condition, condition, and condition in addition to which type/model/and variation without that it can be somewhere between $75 and $7,500. I can at least start to narrow down the to a handful with the exact writing and location(s) and line(s) of the writing if given.
My research indicates about $300.00 in good condition, and that is for a model 4 in .32 long caliber.
The maker of your Derringer is no longer in business. Sorry-
