I don't know about Mary being a polish name but I do know that there are actually several different ways to spell Mary in polish. Mania is actually one spelling of Mary. I am part polish and My Great grandmother and great aunt were actually named Mania(pronounced Manya) which is polish for Mary. If you go to wikipedia and type in Polish names it gives you other spellings for Mary or the virgin Mary.
