You can also address the issue via the System Properties (Right click My Computer). Open the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, then find the driver in the list shown (whether it be for an mp3 player, camera, smartphone, ...) and right click>>Disable. This will keep the computer from trying to install the hardware drivers every time you plug in the device and /should/ allow you to use the device normally as an external drive (if that's the device's original functionality).

That would depend on what you mean by "end." The end of security updates? The end of new programs supporting it? The end of manufacturing of hardware it will run on? The date at which all hardware capable of running it will stop working? Out of all of these possible definitions, the only one that can be conclusively answered is the first one. Security updates for Windows XP will end on April 8, 2014.
This is due to some crash prior to the installer package or .msi file you are using. Either you get a new package of the installer or just check out your hardware drivers and their support with Windows 8.
In Windows Live Movie Maker the settings in it that will make the videos repeat and not start and stop again is loop. This setting can be found under the manage video options.
