In Window XP:"Right click my computer, then "manage", select device manager and scroll down to USB controllers. Click the + then look for the word "Enhanced" in either of the host controller listed. If there's 1 with Enhanced, then you have USB2.0 capable hardware.

Who told you it had no USB ports? Of course it has USB ports. The iMac has 4 USB ports, 1 Firewire port, 1 Thunderbolt port (2 on the 27" iMac), 1 Ethernet port.
2 at the front and 2 at the back.

On a typical setup, only one device can be connected to the ports. However, if you have a special USB port, or a device that will split a USB port, you can connect 2 or more devices.
the USB port should be along one fo the four sides of the laptop. they are rectangulare in shape. do a google image search of "USB port" if u are unsure of what one looks like.

Usually the USB port - flat, rectangular port that is about 1/2 inch in length. Look at the size of you Ipod plug and that will indicate where to plug it in to your computer.
