You can set an alarm on your iPod by first going to clock application pre-installed on you iPod unit. Then click the alarm button at the bottom of your screen. Your screen should read "Alarm" at the top. Hit the "+" button in the top right of your screen and set the alarm to sound when you need it.
hold down the clock adjust button on the back of the ihome until it beeps and then use the "set" dial on the top to get it to the right time and once you have the clock saying the correct time just leave it and it will start blinking and soon it will stop and the new time will be all set.
Go the the 'Clock' app, then on the bottom you should see a tab labeled "Alarm", go to that and from there you can manage your alarms.
You go to your alarm in your icon screen. click on the alarm and set what time you need on their and it should go off on that time.

There is a chance you have a protecting panel at the back, potentially holding a a dock for the AUX plug. This panel is hiding your clock set button, and a few other functions. Just turn the silver knob to remove the panel, hold down the clock set button until it beeps, set the time like you would the alarm.
