No, it doesn't. It's like a KinzKlip. You can only renew your account via a Webkinz or lil'Kinz.

you need to same get another webkinz and adopt it onto the same account and it will restart the year of membership.
Why do you have to renew your webkinz account every year?
The reason why is because Ganz (the company of webkinz) just wants money so they make you buy a webkinz at least once a year so they can takel all of your money. That's nothing new. But it is worth it if you are like me and want to keep your account. Good luck with webkinz!

No. You can only use your code once, but you can add several pets to the account you already have. Once your pet has died after one year, you need to get another. Webkinz do not die.
