How did Carrie meet her friends on sex and the city?

Carrie met Charlotte on a subway car in the middle of the night when a man apparently took off his pants.

She met Miranda at Blumingdales. Carries was working there.

And finally, Samantha... I think it was in some sort of bar or a club.

Actually She met Samantha Jones the first day she got to New York. Her ex-enemy in High School, Donna LaDonna was a cousin of Samantha Jones. Carrie was robbed as soon as she hailed a taxi and realized her bag (that her mom had given her and her sister destroyed with nail polish but made it into a fabulous bag for the 80s [a real head turner]...) was missing, anyways, she remembered Donna had wrote Samantha's number down and she picked up and helped her in her time of need. And Samantha was actually engaged at this time and she is 25. But nevertheless, she meet her first. - Where I found this information...In The Carrie Diaries/Summer and the City. - TV shows always make up things, but the books are the real deal.

And then she meets Miranda Hobbs, when Miranda finds the purse that robbers took, she had found an address book and called Carrie, telling her that she had found the purse. Now Miranda doesn't say her name but they agreed meet in front of Saks so Carrie can get the purse. All that is wrote is that the character has red hair. She is later introduced in the next couple of chapters. But it just so happens that, that was Miranda Hobbs. She was 18 at the time and a freshmen at NYU.

She met Charlotte, after getting a phone call saying that a "paper" wants her to write for them, on the way back to New York after going home, thinking she had struck out. Charlotte was reading Brides magazine.

All in all. The Carrie Diaries really give more detail to how she met her foursome-friendship. Everyone has grown to love these characters, can't help but wonder where they met and how they became such close knit friends right?

They don't say how in both the series or the movie, but i heard that in the next movie, they'll show how they met.
