There had to be a reason for the death of Jesus and, since it brought his ministry to an end, it must have been of major importance. Christianity finds meaning in Christ's death by interpreting it as providing 'salvation' for all who believe.

Christianity as it is know today was first upon the earth when Adam was taught the gospel. You seem to be implying that a date can be put to its first being referred to as Christianity. What religion was began by Jesus?

There as no religion as you speak of only the teachings of Jesus to the people. There were the words which His Father would have had Him speak. He was only doing the will of His father.Though many believed upon Christs words it did not become a religion i.e Christianity, until after His death even though some referred to themselves as Christians , or followers of Christs teachings.ANSWER:Jesus is considered the founder of Christianity through His teachings, His death, and His Resurrection. But, it was His disciple Peter, who went from place to place, preaching and teaching on the principles that Christ preached and taught on.The terms Christian and Christianity did occur after the death of Jesus Christ. No one can prove that the words in which Jesus Christ spoke, did not add to the construction or structure of the religion known as Christianity.Because if Jesus Christ is not the center point of this religion. Then, Christianity would never have existed.
