=== === People who have Down syndrome are usually treated differently because they can't talk properly, in addition to other differences. Down syndrome usually makes it harder for someone to learn, but it's really good for them to keep active.
My brother has Down syndrome and he is so outgoing; he doesn't care what people think of him and that's how most Down syndrome people are. They have their days, like everyone else. They're nice, but can also be mean.
My brother can't talk right. Some people are so nice to him, but others can just be so mean! But, as I said before, he doesn't care at all; he is still his regular self.
That's basically all I know. But just be nice to all special-needs people -- they are just like us!
It affects everything in their life. They will be born with a deformed face, with many health problems (heart defects are common in children with Down Syndrome) and it affects their ability to LEARN. Nevertheless, every child with Down Syndrome should be given the right to learn.
well i can and cant it can make them more angry and also crazyer! they WILL throw fits at the age of 12, 13, 14, 15 and so forth! but them acting like a 2 year old doesnt mean we should respond to them like we would for a 2 year old! treat them there age and handel the fit as best as you can!
Entire books have been written in answer to this question. Down (or Down's) syndrome expresses itself in many degrees of cognitive and medical impairment, from quite mild to severe. The capabilities and independent daily activities of people affected with this disorder vary widely. It is important (essential, really) to realize that they are individuals, and to treat them as individuals and not as part of some alien group. They have individual talents and individual difficulties just as you and I do. Unless you are a rarely gifted mental giant, the major cognitive difference between you and a person with mild Down's syndrome impairment is the speed with which each of you can process information. You're not smarter than they are, just faster. If information comes at them more rapidly than they can process it, they're going to end up having the same problem you would have in the same situation; you will end up confused, frustrated, probably having failed to complete a task, and possibly even at some personal risk. Those with with MILD Down's cognitive impairment are able to work, prepare meals, take care of personal hygiene and living spaces with little or no assistance, as long as they are in a situation where information does not come at them faster than they can process it. They may need some outside assistance to make sure that they are not overwhelmed by a problem or emergency, and to help them avoid being taken advantage of by unethical or criminal elements. The most successful and enjoyable work experiences will likely involve repetitive tasks and predictable events, with caring and capable supervision. It's important to recognize that they have all the feelings and needs that you do; they laugh, they cry, they anger at unfairness and rejoice at friendship, they thrill at sex, they love, they marry. A person with MODERATE Down's cognitive impairment is going to be able to do many of the tasks that a mildly impaired person can do, but with a need for constant supervision and guardianship; an even slower information-processing speed is complicated by mild to moderate memory impairment. A supervisor helps the person keep tasks on track and provides clues regarding how to proceed. A person with SEVERE Down's cognitive impairment is in need of intimate assistance with almost all tasks and functions, and may require care in an institutional setting. Chances are good that their impairment is accompanied by more than usual physical and medical problems.
theyre speech is slurred as it is harder for them to speak , they also look different and walk a bit slower than the average person and cant walk very far , also about half of people born with down syndrome also have heart conditions. i am 14 and they're is a boy in my class with down syndrome , he is 15 nearly 16 and has been kept down as he cannot do the work that his age group is doing at the moment.
Such a person is born mentally retarded and has a characteristic "elfish" appearance. There is no cure, but early intervention and heavy training can give them near normal lives, and they may be able to hold down jobs.
the person can't talk right and have problems like thinking and doing school work and also they have trouble calculating problems and can't understand most things like we can. so basically they have brain injury.

Down syndrome is a genetic condition with which a person is born; it is not something that develops as the person gets older.

Down syndrome mainly affects the persons physical features but it also affects their learning abilities.
Natural light produces vitamins D and C. Vitamin D in light is known to improve brain functioning in persons with down syndrome.
It is found in all places the same.
It is acceptable to say that someone has Down Syndrome, although it may not be necessary to say it since the syndrome does have a characteristic affect on facial features which can be observed.
Treat them the same as everyone else. Parents that have children with mental retardation should seek help to raise these children.http://www.parents.com/health/down-syndrome/down-syndrome-resources/
