Male blowfish push their females to the water surface to breed. The eggs float and hatch after roughly 4 days. In their first 10 days, larvae are covered with a hard shell, with metamorphosis into a true fish occurring in about 3 weeks. As the blowfish fry mature, they move closer to the shore and become adults. Blowfish live from 5 to 10 years.

Parrot fish do not have a natural prey because they do not occur in nature. They are a man made species. Parrot Cichlids are carnivores and will eat very small fish. I believe they are produced in a Laboratory by some Chinese/Taiwanese scientists who artificially fertilise one species of Amazon cichlids eggs with the sperm from a different species. They are not accepted as a species by most Scientists and Aquarists and do not have a proper Taxonomic name.
