With a brief introduction: My IQ is 196. Which means that I compulsively do science like this. In addition, seeking answers for a macro portal gun, I drew up an explanation for a quantum portal gun so I would just be able to scale up. Bad decision. There's a logic gap between Quantum and classical physics. so Until that gap can be bridged, we'll have to settle for this explanation for now.
A quantum portal gun works by taking advantage of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, The Schroedinger's cat thought experiment, (both of which were referenced in portal.) In creating an electromagnetic field around a solid object, so both ends are covered by the field, Radiation can pass through the solid object without touching it. This principle is known as Quantum tunneling (also referenced.) which is the main purpose of the Portal gun. I tested this using the equations the Quantum physics dictates are necessary in these properties, and found that It is possible. Keep your hopes up. Aperture is only as fake as people make it out to be. there's plenty of time to do science.
