Tornadoes can be very damaging to trees. Even a weak tornado of EF0 strength can cause more severe and concentrated damage than you would normally see in a severe wind event. Strong tornadoes can completely level large sections of forest. It can take fifteen years or more for a forest to recover from such devastation.
