As Nick sets the moral tone of the novel, through his narration, it is clear that at times he disapproves of them both. He sees Tom as bigoted, and of course unfaithful. It is more difficult to interpret his views on Daisy his cousin. Certainly he understands her to be entrancing but he also sees her carelessness, blindness, bad parenting, and flakiness too. In the end I am sure Nick saw them both as unlikable and responsible for Gatsby's death.
Daisy is impressed by Gatsby's house, with its opulence and extravagance. She is dazzled by the lavish lifestyle it represents, but also feels a sense of unease at the excess and artificiality of it all.
