It's what u eat like as a snack... in Spain there is a tradition to go to the local bar (at any time u can go, but people goes in between 1 to 7 most likely) to eat some tapas! tapas is not a certain food, e.g. u want to have some tapas, so u go and get a tapa of olives, and a tapa of potatochips... u know! :-) its like saying..lets go have a snack and ur friend gets snickers and u skittels hahaha so in the European/spanish way! hahaha
oh yeah! remember a menu of tapas is totally different if u are in a town where there is the sea, cause tapas will be many of shrimp, bla bla bla... or if u are in the mountains u wont even see that! hehehe u will see prosciutto, olives.... u get it!

Tapas are Spanish canapés or finger food. These snacks are usually served hot in a small clay dish covered in a sauce and eaten using a cocktail stick. Tapas can be made from anything from and there are plenty of Tapas recipies on the net. Tapas were thought to have acquired their name from the word tapa, which means 'cover' in Spanish.
Rather than one particular dish, "tapas" is a term that refers to an appetizer, or finger food, served on little dishes, for the purpose of having a small taste of an incredibly memorable and tasty tidbit. There are many books on Spanish Tapas, with many different recipes. One of my favorites is very easy to make:
Chicken thighs, boneless, skinless. (about 12)
Cut into 1 inch cubes.
1/4" water in pan.
Bring to boil, then simmer on very low in a mixture of
1/3 cup honey, 1 T salt, fresh minced garlic
Until water is gone, and chicken is done (45-60 minutes) and pieces are dark and glossy.
Serve with toothpicks, dipping sauce, of your choice.
Tapas are a category of food, like "appetizers" or "desserts." The term refers to a variety of small portioned Spanish dishes. There is a lot of culture around eating tapas with friends.
Tapas are small portions of food that is generally a specialty food although they do serve small portions of normal food for tapas as well.
Yes, yes it is.
Spanish Tapas is made up of lots of things including olives, omelet and many other things.
One type of Spanish food is tapas. These include espinacas con garbanzos and jamon iberico. Certain dishes served on a piece of bread are called "pinchos."
The capital city of tapas and nightlife is not officially decided. Different Spanish cities believe they have the best tapas scene. I would recommend Granada, as many restaurants still serve tapas for free.

They are called tapas.
No, it is either a noun or a plural noun. Tapas in Hinduism means austerity. Tapas (from Spanish) can also mean appetizers and snacks. In this meaning, it can be a noun adjunct (a tapas bar).
A tapa can be the lid on a pot, the cover on a book, or savory snacks. The most famous version is "savory snacks" as that version is known to many languages.
