The same thing any animals' kidneys do. They filter out impurities from the blood so they can be excreted. More importantly in fish, the kidneys are a major organ to help maintain osmotic balance with their environment. In Freshwater Fish, they retain salts in the blood of the fish (since the fish is hyperosmotic to its environment, the salts want to diffuse out, and lots of water wants to move into the fish) while they are constantly urinating because of the net movement of water into the fish. In SW fish, the kidneys help move OUT extra salts taken in when the fish drinks seawater, because the salts want in and the water wants out (the fish is hypo osmotic to the seawater).
If the fish live in water with a lot of salt, the kidneys will get rid of the salt and regulate the blood. The blood cells will bloat if there is more salt.
Yes fish have kidneys
yes they do.
If the fish are fresh water fish the kidneys would not work. The fish would die.

Blood wastes are filtered by the kidneys. Saltwater fish lose water because of osmosis. Their kidneys return water to the body. The reverse happens in freshwater fish: they to gain water osmotically. Their kidneys produce dilute urine for excretion.
Gills and Kidneys
the fishes has to use kidneys because most fish are ectothermic which means that they are cold blodded so if they dont have kidneys then how are they going to have babys and swim. this is why fish use kidney but i you dont trust me then go to google then go to images and type in your question or so then they will show you fishes with no kidney and where do they put them and everything.
Yes, it can. It can also cause cancer in your kidneys.
Yes, but in mammals it is a minor function. (In salt water fish it is their major function.)
Because seawater is so salty, fish must pump out the excess salt. They do this through their kidneys and by using specialized cells in their gills.
Fish is a nutritious kind of food. It is not necessary to drink tea specifically, when eating fish, but it is generally a good idea to drink some liquid, water, tea, orange juice or whatever you like, to aid the digestive process. Digestion works better with an adequate amount of liquid. Also, it's good for the kidneys to have enough fluid to excrete. Fish are a high protein type of food, and there will be uric acid produced as a waste product of digestion, which the kidneys must get rid of. If you are not kind to your kidneys, you may develop a kidney stone, which is very painful.
Fish, like humans, have kidneys which regulate the water and salt content of the body. This process is often referred to as filtration, though in fact it is a combination of several complex processes.
The kidneys of a fish filter the water-soluble wastes produced by metabolism and excrete them as either very concentrated or very diluted urine, depending on whether the fish needs to keep or lose water.
The adrenal glands are located on top of the kidneys.
