A 3mm stone is 3mm large. Isn't that like asking what color is a blue bird?
well maybe they arent sure what the mm means...
it means millimeter.
there are 25 millimeters in a inch, so a 3 mm stone is roughly 1/8th of a inch.
fairly small. i have had some as large as 10mm .
I'm assuming what you actually meant was "Is a 13mm kidney stone large?" and to that question I say yes. Absolutely. Any stone over 5mm needs to be broken up or it will create a blockage somewhere in your ureter and your whole system will get backed up and you can actually die from this if it is not treated properly.
I have had several stones all around 4mm and they were unbearably painful. I don't even want to imagine what a 13mm stone would feel like.
A grain of suger is 1mm, so 3 grians is equal to 3mm.
3 millimetres is 3 millimetres, regardless of what you measure. If you cannot conceive of how large (or really, small) it is, find a ruler.
10 mm which is about 3/8" or around the thickness of your pinky.
A 3mm kidney stone is 3 millimeters in diameter.
Any stone would be harmful
Are you serious ?????????? Its 13mm, you said it in the question.
The outside.
6mm obvious
It is never normal for a kidney stone to block your urine, however it does happen. When a stone blocks the flow of urine, treatment needs to occur soon so kidney or ureter damage doesn't occur.
A 6mm stone would be a.75 carat diamond.
NO. if you feed the toddler mineral water a large kidney stone will form in his/her kidney and it wont be pretty
ESWL is used when a kidney stone is too large to pass on its own, or when a stone becomes stuck in a ureter (a tube which carries urine from the kidney to the bladder) and will not pass.
approximately 1
It certainly wouldn't be a small one.
A kidney stone can cause damage to the kidney.
In some patients a 4mm kidney stone may not need lithotripsy, however, for some patients this may be too large to pass without assistance.
