Skull candy headphones usually break anywhere from 2-3 months use.
I recommend buying another brand, because they are cheap.
You're only paying for the brand. Definitely not the quality.
Not really but they can damage your hearing if you listen on full volume for too long.
You can have any set of earphones as long as it has a 3.5mm jack to connect to your iPod Shuffle.

Yes, you can use any earphones with any electronic device as long as the earphones plug fits into the socket.
what are the side effect of using earplug contineously 2 hours?
I think Sony ZX600 is much better than Skullcandy Hesh 2.0. Usually fashionable headphones sound worse than professional brands with long history. Skullcandy Hesh 2.0 made a lot achivement I heard, and ppl say it is better than Sony, Yamaha or Audio Technika's low-end models but ZX600 is not a low-end model. It may sound better than ZX100, but not a contest with ZX600. I have Hesh original, not 2.0. It sounds nice but it's even worse than UltimateEars 300vi earphones despite of it is a headphone with 50mm driver.
It all depends on how loud you listen to your music and how much you listen to it. I'd say from personal experience maybe 6months. Your best bet is to go buy different head phones for the ipod ones will not last very long and they have horrible sound quality.
Without any doubt the Westone UM2 (wonderful sound) or Westone UM1 earspeakers. These universal-fit earphones come with a variety of foam surrounds (longer, shorter, short, etc.) which can be moulded to fit almost anone's ears. You can also get custom-built earmoulds if necessary.
I think N dubs has been running for 2 years. By Kathryn
(125.73 centimeters) or (4 feet and 1.5 inches) not counting the exposed metal tip.
As long as you have live, just turn up the volume, and connect it to your remote.
