The number of people depends on the size of the pyramid. The Greek historian Heroditus (450BC) was told the Great Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu at Giza took 100,000 men and twenty years to build. Modern estimates put the number at between 7,000 and 30,000. The fact is we don't really know.
