There are many excellent products for composing music. Fruity loops studio is the best one by far. There are effects, and rips and all of the software is upgradeable. It is expensive but the high production quality will be worth it. For something of a little lower quality, any of the Sibelius versions work well. But only use that if you need something more for a class or hobby than a career.
