They try to settle it by a competition, they each will reach Shiva Lingam at the very high heavens and below the earth, and the both will reach to ground 0 again. As Brahma got on his swan and soar to the sky, Vishnu turned into a boar and dug into the earth. Afterwards, Vishnu gave up hope, he began to feel tired and began to feel hungry. He came to ground 0. Meanwhile, Brahma also began to feel tired he saw a Mallika Flower. Brahma found out the flower was from Shiva Lingam, he thought he could trick Vishnu by saying he got it from Shiva Lingam, when he just got it in the middle of the air. Brahma went down to ground 0 and told Vishnu the lie. Suddenly Vishnu called out, "LIAR!" Vishnu became furious of Brahma because of his lie so much that he cut of one of Brahma's head and said he won't except any Mallika Flower in his worships again And that's how Brahma lost one of his 5 heads
