Reckoning a group of houses at 3 kW per house, 1 MW would serve 333 houses. Each house would draw more than 3 kW sometimes, but it would average out over the large number of houses - some might be empty, some might use gas heating, some might use electric heating, etc.
I have read it can supply yearly needs for about 1000homes. PK Jain
It depends on the country and the area. In the UK it would power 200-300 houses, every day.

not any relation between mega watt and gallons of diesel.
Mega stands for 10^6 (10 raised to power 6 or 1 followed by 6 zeroes). Giga stands for 10^9 (10 raised to power 9 or 1 followed by 9 zeroes). Tera stands for 10^12 (10 raised to power 12 or 1 followed by 12 zeroes). In effect: 1 Tera Watt will have 10^6 (1 followed by 6 zeroes) Mega Watts or 1 Tera Watt = 1000000 Mega Watt or 1 Tera Watt = 1 Mega Mega Watt - Neeraj Sharma
100 hp is 0.0735 MW
One megawatt is equal to 1,340 horsepower.
A billion watts. A watt is one amp at one volt.
12000 megawatts
1000 kilowatts for 1 mega watt
1 mega watt is 1,000,000 watts
not any relation between mega watt and gallons of diesel.
1 kilo Watt = 10^3 (1000) Watts 1 mega Watt = 10^6 (1,000,000) Watts 1000 kilo Watt = 1000*1000 Watts = 1,000,000 Watts = 1 Mega Watt Therefore...1000 kW = 1 MW Hope that helps! ^_^
1 mega-watt = 1,000,000 watts 1000 x 1,000,000 = 1,000,000,000 or one billion watts 1000 mega-watts also = 1 giga-watts
not gega watt ,it is gaga watt , you have to start from 1 watt 1000 watt = 1 k watt 1000 000 = 1 mega watt 1000 000 000 = 1 gaga watt example : your home need 5 k watt = 5000 watt , but this mega watt or gaga watt amount generated from huge turbine s ,to feeding cites needs in electricity demand .
There are one thousand kWs in a megawatt.
15mw
MW is a unit of power just like kW 1MW = 1000 kW 1 mega-watt = 1000 kilo-watt Watt is a measurement of power. watt-hour is a unit of energy 1 mega-watt-hour = 1000 kilo-watt-hour
1 MW = 1000 kW, thus 1 kW = 0.001 MW
