Leonardo da vinci used his notebooks to help him with his paintings. He studied and made notes about the human anatomy, plants, and rocks in order to be able to make them more realistic in his paintings.
Much of his notebooks contained his lab notes and ideas for inventions, such as his notes and ideas for flying machines.
Although the style and content of his journals and sketchbooks suggested they were intended for that purpose, none were copied or published in his lifetime. The reason for this remains unknown. More than 13,000 pages of his notes and drawings survived, and were utilized in a large number of scientific and biographical volumes about Da Vinci's work.
He wrote it on parchment paper. Then he bound the sheets together and made it into a notebook. Leonardo's Notebooks are still available nowadays.

To write it for yourself, YOU have to do it.
Leonardo da Vinci's journals are mostly written in mirror-image cursive. The reason may have been more a practical expediency than for reasons of secrecy as is often suggested. Since Leonardo wrote with his left hand, it is probable that it was easier for him to write from right to left.In mirror writing.
I don't believe that to be the case. There is no classified information in Leonardo's notebooks.
