There are approximately 6 serving of turkey in a 6 pound bone in turkey. The turkey should feed about 6 adults.
there are MANY variables, not the least of which is the size of the breast. I have found approximately 6oz per breast is not an unrealistic estimate. assuming your talking boneless breasts, that says you are getting just under 3 breasts per pound. so one could estimate 120 portions, but be sure to allow yourself some margin of error for those variables. bone on will of course be cheaper, but will lower the number of servings per pound. good luck
how many pounds bone in turkey breast will serve thirteen people
A bone-in turkey breast should be cooked in a 325 degree oven for 22-25 minutes per pound. Based on that, the cooking time for a 9-pound breast should be cooked about 3 hours and 40 minutes.
about 30 minutes
About 4 to 4.5 hours. If you have a probe thermometer that can be in the oven, use that. Remove the turkey when the breast temp (don't hit the bone) hits 161 degrees (yes, most say 165, but the birds going to keep cooking when you remove it from the oven).
It's 20 minutes per pound. You could fry the chick, salt, pepper and cook until golden brown, lower heat and put a lid on the pan. When the juices run clear and are not pink then the chicken is done. i do not believe in this anser it is more like 40 minutes per pound and when the juoces run pink its not done it should be when you like the color of the juice........ red juce is medium rare pink juice is rare and clear juice is over easy..... hope that helped!!!! You can't eat rare or medium rare poultry unless you like being sick. Poultry has to be cooked well done. And 20 minutes per pound is a good average. But you should always check the temperature. The breast should reach 160 internally. 20 Minutes Per Pound on 325 F 116 C
The difference between the turkey and the turkey crown lies on the wings. The turkey crown refers to the breasts of a bird cut together without the wings taken off while a turkey crown has the breast bone left in it so that it holds its shape.
A turkey crown is the breasts of a bird cut off together, witht he wings taken off. A turkey crown has the breast bone left in so it holds its shape. A turkey Butterfly is both breasts taken off the bone but joined together by the skin, so it flaps about like a "butterfly". Both cuts are the same cut except:- Crown= BONE IN Butterfly= BONELESS
Sternum.
The wish bone is in the neck of the turkey.
Better is 350 degrees for about 55 minutes. Chicken will become "dry" and tough, even when submerged in liquid, if overcooked. If you will be reheating the chicken in a microwave later then under cook the chicken about 10 minutes.
A person should have at least 1 20 pound turkey and 1 10 pound turkey in order to feed 20 people. There should be 1 pound of turkey for each person.
