In Matthew 4.1-11 The Bible clearly states that Jesus was tempted 3 times. However we are tempted every single day and that is what makes Jesus such a remarkable story and how we know he was man but also God in the flesh. Because no one else ever has lived a perfect life and then died on a cross (the worse kind of death at the time) for our sins (that had to be paid one way or another).
If your kid does something wrong you have to discipline him not to be mean but because he needs to know right from wrong and there has to be punishment for wrong actions. This is also what makes the Christian religion so different from all other religions. Because it is the only religion in the world that God reaches out to us and sacrificed his self to give man an (undeserved) second chance. All other religions believe that you get to heaven by being good or your own good doing. But the whole part of the christian story is that we can't ever be good enough to reach God so he has to reach out to us (aka Grace).
Part of how we know it is a true story is because all of his 12 disciples except one believed in it so much that they were all murdered and gave their lives to spread the good news. (Not that the one didn't believe enough we just all have different lives to live).
Jesus was tempted three times by Satan in the wilderness.
But,Jesus as a man was tempted by Satan or the minions of Satan or his own human nature probably every day of his life, just like every other human who has ever lived or ever will live on this planet. If that weren't true, what would be the point of his humanity?Count 'em:
If you are God change this bread into stone.
If you worship me I will give you all this stuff.
If you are the Son of God throw yourself from here.
Luke 4:1-13
Jesus was tempted three times in the desert.
According to Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus was tempted three times.
in the desert he was tempted 3 times by Satan but im sure there were several other times also, but Jesus never gave into any of the temptations. he was holy
I think you mean 'How many times was Jesus in the wilderness'.
only once.
3 times

Another answer from our community:Immediately following His baptism, the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. Jesus fasted over a period of 40 days and then was tempted by Satan 3 times (Mark 1:12-13, Matt. 4:1-11, Luke 4:1-13).
In the book of Matthew chapter 4 it says that Jesus had gone to the wilderness and the devil had taken Jesus up the holy city (Jerusalem) and had setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple. Pinnacle means highest part of a monomental building or temple. So, that's where Satan told Jesus to jump from. Hope this helps.
40 days and 40 nights (Matthew 4:2)
No doubt after fasting for such a long time Jesus was in a depleted state. I would also imagine that being in the presence of Satan must have been emotionally and mentally draining. The bible tells us that at the end of the 40 days in the desert angels were sent to minister to Jesus and help Him regain His strength. They certainly would have provided nourishment.
he was preparing to sacrifice himself and working at strengtheneing his relationship with god the father. also he faced temptatino in the eyes of the desert and showed that life exists without food and water (bare essentials) as long as one has god :D
Well you see after God divorced Satan, he went through a bit of a rough patch, that no amount of godly or ungodly sex could fix. Turns out he took the kids and never came back. The end.
Moses lead the people for 40 years in the wilderness.
In the Gospel accounts which record this, it is after His baptism by John the Baptist. The synoptic gospels say that Jesus went into the wilderness for forty days, an allusion to the prophet Elijah. Mark 1:13 tells of Jesus in the wilderness forty days, ministered to by angels, just as Elijah was ministered by an angel and in the wilderness forty days (1 Kings 19:5-7). The 'Q' document follows the allusion to Elijah in a subtly different way, taking the angel out of the gospel story and instead having Jesus fast for forty days (in the company of Satan), just as Elijah did after the angel ministered to him. This version in found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.
The Battle of the Wilderness occured on May 5-7, 1864. Therefore it lasted 2 days.
The A has a short A sound. (A long A would be Satan.)
He did not kill Satan. He killed the symbol of the snake (the snake). God is the only person who can kill satan
Absolutely, as long as it's a drug rehab facility in the wilderness. If you want to just send him/her into the wilderness, make sure they have the necessary training before sending them.
