Truckers yearly pay depends on several things.

1. years of experience

2. type of trucking job (what type of unit does he or she drive, reefer, flatbed, etc)

3. type of trucking job (local, regional, Over the Road)

4. Type of Company (Quality, Brokered loads or direct, benefits offered, etc)

So let cover a small range to give you an idea.

A beginning driver in first year pulling a regular dry Van over the road at a good average company will earn on average $28,000 to $35,000. 2nd year $35,000 to $40,000

3rd year $40,000 to $50,000.

After a year if the driver decides to do flat bed or reefer unit his or her pay may easily be at the high end of the average and exceed it.

Specializing into something more serious like household (movers) heavy hauling, hazardous would great increase the amount per year.

An experienced driver with 5 yr plus behind the wheel and excellent driving record would be able to go to some of the best trucking companies where his or her salary could easily exceed $60,000 with great benefits.
