Hi there
This definitely depends. You can get a website copywriter for £1 per hour or £50 per hour. It's all about quality.
I am a website copywriter and I charge £40 per hour - I have over 11 years' experience so clients benefit from my knowledge, expertise of the online marketplace, accuracy, copy flow and efficiency.
If a website copywriter wants to charge you anything less than £20 an hour they'll either be:
- Graduates (in which case they could be very good but don't have much experience)
- From overseas (in which case you will need to rewrite the copy yourself)
- Not very good (experienced online/web copywriters are hard to find but paying more is much worth is in the long run)
If you want to know more, please visit my website - www.brightcopy.co.uk.
Thanks

I think this varies by city and state you are working in. Copywriters can make anywhere from $25 an hour - $100 an hour depending on the subject matter. Pharmaceutical or medical writers can earn a very high hourly rate in the NY/NJ area.
