The same as ever other soldier in the Military, it is based on their rank and time in service. Recruiters do not receive a bonus or additional money for a contract, being that Military Recruiters do not write contracts (MEPS does) they do not get anything extra.
Army Recruiters DO NOT receive bonuses. You can go to http://www.usarec.army.mil/support/bonus_program.htm and see how army recruiters DON'T receive $2,000 for each recruit. Recruiters are INELIGIBLE for the program because they are recruiters. Only service members, retirees, future soldiers, ROTC cadets and some civilian employees in positions that are NOT recruiting or teaching are eligible. Please actually read something before posting inaccurate information for people, as the previous poster did. If you're going to write about READ THE FINE PRINT people. You are also not eligible for the bonus if you are otherwise eligible and it is your brother/son/close relative.
Contrary to popular belief, military recruiters do NOT get bonuses for the people they enlist. There is no such thing as a commission for these recruiters. To find out what they earn per month all you need to find out is a few simple details. 1. What is their rank. E-5, or E-7 for example. 2. How long is their time in service. For example, over 8 or over 10 years. 3. Where do they live; meaning what city and state and do they have dependants? You can take all these pieces of information and go straight to Military.com and look at the enlisted pay charts. Cross reference rank and time in service to see their "base pay" per month. Then look up the BAH and BAQ allowances based on their rank, location, years, and whether or not they have dependants. These are the allowances for food and housing. These two allowances are not taxable but their pay is. As a recruiter they also get what's called Special duty pay or "pro-pay" of an additional $450 per month that is taxable. This pay is for the large amount of responsibility for their career field.
It depends on the market, the level of experience required, and the type of recruiting (corporate versus agency).
Corporate recruiting (working directly for a large firm) is typically salary based and offers a higher base salary and better benefits than agency recruiting.
Agency recruiting typically has a lower base salary but offers additional incentives for placements (candidates into jobs) and new clients (businesses). Business development is often required for agency recruiting jobs. The income opportunity may be much higher for a someone good at business development.
Recruiters are often the most successful (and make the most money), if they start off in a professional field and build up a knowledge base and then move to recruiting people into that field.
In the Seattle market, entry level corporate recruiters make $45,000 - $55,000 a year. Experienced corporate recruiters make $75,000 - $115,000.
Agency recruiting in Seattle typically offers a base salary of $30,000 - $45,000, but often have incentives that can more than double a successful recruiter's income.
A person who enlists with a High School Diploma and no College Credits will enlist as an E-1.
A person who enlists with a High School Diploma and 24 - 47 College Credits will enlist as an E-2.
A person who enlists with a High School Diploma and 48 - 119 College Credits will enlist as an E-3.

Any US Army recruitment center. The same recruiters who recruit for the Regular (active duty) Army also recruit for the Army Reserve. They do not, however, recruit for the National Guard.

The army's recruitment in England is somewhat similar to that of the United States. They use 125 different career offices to recruit. They also place ads on television to recruit people. They also send recruiters to schools and universities to try and recruit.
We currently have an all volunteer military force and have had one for more than 35 years.
