It would depend on the age of the pony and where he is kept. All horses (or ponies) that are kept in a stall need to get out daily if at all possible. If he is kept in a large pasture he will exercise himself to a certain degree. An older pony will need and want less exercise than a young pony. If he has pasture-mates, they will run and play together. But for riding 3 to 4 times a week is ideal.
It is good for a horse to get at least one hour daily but if this is not possible leave your horse out to graze perfurably with other horses.
A miniature horse will need basic exercise, such as turnout time and some more intensive training such as in harness work. An hour or so a day should be enough to keep a mini fit and healthy.
poney Shetland - french translation of Shetland pony
it comes from shetland and is a pony
the shetland pony is a breed of pony.. not a "catergory" as such
I do believe that the Dartmoor pony is more rare than the Shetland pony.
There is the Shetland Pony Studbook Society, and the Pony breeders of Shetland Association. Both are listed in the related links below.
Shetland Islands - Shetland pony.
The SHETLAND ISLAND!
get a Shetland pony
Lunging is a great way for a horse to get exercise and to also help with balance and flexibility. If it is the only exercise that a Shetland pony will get for a day, up to 15 minutes is the maximum per side. The next session should not occur until 24 hours has passed.
That is a matter of oppinion. Of course the full name of the Shetland is the Shetland Pony. A pony is any horse under 14 hands. This could be just about any breed, wheras, the shetland is just one breed.
I don't know but the Shetland pony is named after the Shetland island
there is only one breed of shetland but there is another type of minature pony called fallabellas but the shetland comes in every colour.
