Just 12oz of water 10 min before a test can dilute your urine some. If you are wanting to dilute it, I'd say urinate all you can before the test, the 30-45 min before drink 2-3 liters of water. This could be an over kill, but after doing this, my urine was clear and had no smell. It almost didn't stay in my body long enough to get that warm. This resulted in a "dilute" test, the military makes you retest as soon as they receive the info, but at this time you've had enough time get the drug out of your system.

∙ 14y agoNo. A drug test is simply searching for the presence of different drugs within the urine. If there is a larger than normal amount of water present in the urine sample, the doctors and nurses will be able to tell that the specimen has been diluted and will automatically know that it has been tampered with. Also, water cannot hide the presence of drugs that are still within the body.

∙ 14y agoIf you're planning to get a glass of water, put yellow dye in it and turn that in, forget it. One of the tests they run is a Dilution test, to make sure the urine submitted is pure urine with no added water. It looks for creatinine (a chemical your body makes), pH, specific gravity...if the analyzer looks at the sample and sees it has the exact chemical makeup of water with dye in it, you will fail. Badly.

∙ 11y agoYes. Alot of times if you drink to much water it will put a red flag on your test and most places auto fail you for this. As this is an attempt to cover something up. I have tried this a couple of times. I got a call from the Testing facility asking why i had so much water in my system and no matter what you tell them they will already be running more tests on your urine to find a substance so in the long run it hurts you.

maybe, but if you are indeed being honest about the amount you smoked and the piss test is a dipstrip, then your best bet is just to drink lots of water, never mind cranburry juice or any of that other BS that stoners think work. The water is not going to flush it out of you, what it is going to do is dilute your piss to the point that the THC will not be detected by the strip, in order to do this, drink plenty of water, and on the day of the test just keep drinking, you will have to piss alot but this is good, make it to where your piss is as clear as water and you will probably be okay.
