Guys Ryuk can live as long as he wants, he is not old. He dies when he affects reality and kills a person who wanted to kill another person.

Who kills light?
I believe that in Death Note: Light manipulates Rem (misa's shinigami) into killing L. After L dies Ryuk (Light's shinigami) kills Light.
