Alpha Radiation (
α
) – Least penetration. Will be blocked by a single sheet of paper.
Beta Radiation (
β
) – More penetration than alpha. Blocked by a few mms aluminium.
Gamma Radiation (
µ
) – Strong penetration. Needs a least a few inches of lead to block.
ionizing radiation can adequately be reduced by heavy materials such as lead, and massive concrete. Heat radiation can be blocked by many things such as a physical barrier.
lead
I think it can be used as making potassium cyanide (KCN) which is a harmfull and dangerous poison. It can be used to form CO i.e. carbonmonooxide which is also a toxic gas
K alpha and L alpha are secondary radiation lines that are peculiar to a given element bombarded with radiation (Xray tube). When you radiate an element, it gives off secondary radiation measured as K alpha and L alpha lines. This secondary radiation is given off at an angle peculiar to the element being radiated. Hence one is able to analyse a mineral ore sample for wanted elements by setting up radiation detectors at the various angles peculiar to the elements being sort. This process is used in auto-assay equipment used by mining companies wanting to reduce the time it takes to analyse samples chemically.
Often lead, though many different types of metal may be used, as long as they block radiation.
Alpha radiation is used for people's smoke detectors.
Nuclear has radiation. But when used correctly there are no dangerous effects if you are using the proper precautions.

Hydrogen was once used to fill airships. Quite dangerous due to how flammable it is.
Mercury is a d-block element. It is the only metallic element which is a liquid at standard temperature and pressure. It is widely used in thermometers.Mercury is a metal element. It is used in thermometers, barometers and manometers. Also used to make some medicines and cosmetics.
zink is a d block element. we use it for galvanize iron.
Lead is usually used because of its density and ability to block electromagnetic radiation.
Technetium-99 is used as standard source for beta radiation.
You mean a physical substance which could be lead or concrete. Some ultraviolet radiation can be blocked by sunblocks and clothing. Other types of radiation such as X-Rays used in medicine can be blocked by lead.
Gigantic sails can be used as sun-jammers to propel spacecraft. Unlike a parasol on earth, which is used to block the sun's rays, these contraptions are designed to capture solar radiation and use the radiation energy to accelerate spacecraft.
i dont know this is a hard question
