The best way to become smart is to observe things closely, listen for what you don't want to hear and to read widely on many different topics. Hanging out with other smart people is also extremely beneficial. Observing seemingly mundane things might help too.
Intelligence is mostly an innate characteristic, one you are born with. Since you cannot change your inherited abilities, you should learn how to utilize them in the best way.
If you want to do well in Math, you should study how the arithmetic rules and geometric formulas apply in real life. This will connect the abstract concepts, which can be so much gobbledygook otherwise. Practicing problem solving (and how the rules apply) is easier than trying to cram all of the theorems.
If you want to do well in English and spelling, ALWAYS check the meaning and spelling of any word you don't know - don't skip it and think it doesn't matter. Written communication is more than just knowing answers, it's how to express them clearly. Understanding literature is more difficult because the authors will put a lot of different meanings in their works. And, of course, a lot of the meanings are just "read into them" by academics trying to display their own brilliance. You should be able to read a story and understand the point the author is trying to make.
If you want to be knowledgeable in science, look at the history of how modern technology came about. You have an advantage because you don't have to figure it out yourself, just read how others did. Basic chemistry, physics, and engineering may be difficult to comprehend without hands-on laboratory experience. Science fairs can provide a wealth of information that (again) somebody else has taken the time and effort to diligently investigate.
History, as above, teaches a lot about how science, and society, and philosophy have developed over the centuries. Knowing who was king in a certain year is relatively meaningless unless you read what that king actually did : who did he fight and why; who did he listen to; who did he sponsor in exploration, or literature, or music?
Being smart is not brainpower, it's spending the time to KNOW something. Many times, that knowledge can come in handy when you least expect it to.

Being Smart is Simple
I know some very intelligent people (me being one of them). They will tell you to laugh off all the jokes : being called a "nerd" is good. It means people are jealous of your ability. You should be proud of having a "big brain", and remember that it may shrink if you don't use it.
The best way to become smart is to observe things closely, listen for what you don't want to hear and to read widely on many different topics. Hanging out with other smart people is also extremely beneficial. Observing seemingly mundane things might help too.
Do YOUR BEST and study new things you will learn in the future or practice more and ask if you can get extra credit for something. Also your BEHAVIOR also counts for your grade so ALWAYS be on your Best behavior.
The best way to be smart is to study hard in school.
LISTEN. If you don't your either going to get held back or repeat your grade.
Also, you can study, ask teachers for help, be an active student in class, and ask questions!!
By going to school.
If that's too hard, you could always just learn how to spell 'bacome' and fake it.
live your life, go to school, stay active, and eat healthily
