It's shown from the first signs of him planning to kill Duncan; he just isn't brave enough, and this could be a sign that Macbeth just isn't the kind of man capable of remaining sane after murderer; ironic because he's just come back from killing an army of Norweigans.

∙ 13y agoMacbeth started out as an honest person only to be pushed into the wrong direction countless times by the people he held close to his heart, and his emotions.
Lady Macbeth wanted power,
Macbeth thought that since the prophesy was true that he was going to be king, his sons wont succeed the throne,
and he was scared because he thought that he wasnt safe, which was thanks to guilt for killing so many, and the mere thought of death scared him as well, which was why he seeked the witches once again to see how he was going to die

∙ 10y agoMacbeth was a villain, because he thought only of himself and his wife. He was ruthless and dictatorial. He sought what he wanted without regard for the feelings, opinions, pains, and sufferings of others. He solved challenges and problems by the brute force of the sword. He quickly and severely punished others for disobeying the law and disrespecting him, his family, and his rule. And yet he invariably resorted to illegal, violent means to realize his ambitions, dreams and hopes. This was shown in his readiness to kill his beloved king, his best friend, and the innocent family of a noble acquaintance. This also was shown in his readiness to frame the royal guards for the King's murder. And this also was shown in his readiness to cast aspersions and doubts on the characters of Donalbaine and Malcolm, Fleance, and Macduff.
