He would react with jealousy and envy and could possibly make things very difficult for her by sabotaging the job by contacting employers, co-workers and spread false rumours, or by flattening her tyres, turning off the alarm clock and genreally making it impossible for her to go UNLESS there was something in it for him but outwardly to her and everyone else he MIGHT show he actually cared and was happy for her.
Follow up question...would the lure of money and prestige be enough for a narcissist to accept a situation such as this or is a narcissist's self-esteem and self-importance more important to him than money and prestige?
to follow up question: No, it would not. The later is more important.
Many of the ignore the R.O.
Don't date him, see him, or contact him and refuse all contact. Ever.
Usually they have moved on by then and found another victim who is able to feed them the constant attention they need.

Because people typically react to stupid things & can't get their head in the right mindset. So they just flip out, to feel better about themselves. <3 adahl.
Talk to her like you normally would. Forget about convincing her about what is "wrong" with her. It won't work. You can't force someone to see that they are a drug addict, alcoholic, narcissist, etc. And trying to get a Narcissist to admit wrongdoing? You may as well go try to move a mountain. Its better that she's a narcissist and not the victim of one, but I'm sure it's still beyond painful for you to watch. The only thing you CAN change is how you react to what she does and says to you so that you're not manipulated or become her enabler. You standing tough and not putting up with any "bull" is the only thing that will help your relationship with her. ~ T
No, not typically. Generally, people react to poison ivy, oak or sumac. Generally, animals be they domesticated or wild don't react. But there may be exceptions.
He might be offended that it wasn't intended for him, he might become upset or displeased that you didn't think the same of him. His ego would be hurt because in his eye's why wouldn't the message be intended for him? --a recovering narcissist
More than likely she wont care.
Narcissist's react to pain as if it consumes their life and everyone must be aware of their pain and adhere to their every beck and call. Usually they try to recify their reaction to pain by trying to over exagerate their illness or make it sound worst than it acually is. I live with one and someone who does not know him like I do would think that he is on death's door sometimes. This man is a Christian but he uses so many pain killers sometimes I question his faith.
They would likely feel resentful or angry. They see themselves as superior in every way. The warmest response you can hope for is they pity you for being misguided.
