How would high speed travel change the the way people communicate?

people best communicate in person. it is why presidents do travel to meet and greet others about the world. even when the best form of holograms enable us to teleconference it will not and cannot be as good as the real thing. electronic technology ignores the mystical because for the most part western thinking is based on the sciences which are all based on some way of measuring. We may never be able to measure the very creator of our inspiration - our muse - God. How ironic that some in our secular society are trying so hard to rid of God, that which brings forth our creative powers. But it is our souls that connect when we meet face to face and no other medium can replace it. So back to high speed transit, on the one hand we need to learn how to build cities that are compact and allow people the ability to walk or ride a bike. It is healthier because it gives us some excercise too. But there will always be the need for high speed transit between the greater distances. Jet flight travel is highly sensitive to fuel costs. There are no alternatives to date. Hydrogen fuel is possible alternative but no one has been able to figure out how to make that a safe method of fuel for flying, Skunk Works did some work with it but to no avail. Now the vacuum tube technology has been around for some time. It is viable and makes alot of sense. It is super high speed, quiet (maybe imperceptible) and the lowest energy consumption per mile of any form of high speed transit. this country was once a leader, we are becoming followers. This is not the country I was born into...what say you out there?
