Well it sounds more like you have had an issue with aftercare and not so much as an infection issue. Aftercare is tailored to the individual, what works for one doesn't always work for the other.
Keeping the cleaning of your piercing to basics is key (this means avoiding the aftercare stuff the facility tries to get you to buy "cash grab"). Flushing the piercing daily under running water in the shower while moving the jewellery to rinse the lymphatic discharge away is all that is really needed.
Cleaners, soaks, salt mixs, tea tree oils and woo woo magic sprays and lotions do nothing for your piercing that simply rinsing the piercing will do. Get your piercing done by a real professional body piercer (they will use good material and a-septic techniques to ensure the piercing has a good chance to heal without issue, this means cheap piercings are just that CHEAP, doesn't mean they were done right or by a qualified professional).
Common sense aftercare staying to the basics of rinsing each piercing and leaving the piercing to heal at it's own rate based on your personal level of health makes too much sense. You don't dork around putting woo woo magic crud on a cut, so why do it to your piercings?? Daily irrigation of the piercings even when they are healed will assure a happy piercing and more over a healthy piercing. Keep it simple!
After getting my Tragus pierced I waited until 2 months to change mine as it was still hurting , but when they change the bar in the Tragus it can be quite painful so just putting it out there and don't change jewelry in the Tragus when it's infected it really hurts
I have had my Tragus pierced on both ears, and went swimming almost right after getting the piercing. Mine was fine.
of course you can. i do, and I've had mine done for a year.
No reason why not. Getting piercings doesn't exclude anyone from taking a sauna !
It depends on which side you prefer. It doesn't matter which side you get pierced.
It is a little bit more painful than getting your cartilage pierced which is extremely thick cartilage. if you haven't felt that pain, I wouldn't advise getting it done. However, it is a super cool piercing!! :) good luck ;D
Well that depends on how you got your tragus pierced. Contact me dirrectly on my message board on this site.
