Innate behaviors are not acquired. That is why they are called innate. You are born with them. Examples include instincts, such as a baby knowing how to crawl without being taught.
In the womb, the baby is encased in a sack called the Amnion. This sack is filled with fluid called Amniotic fluid, so the baby is encased in water and can not breath. The baby's blood supply is connected to that of the mother by the umbilical cord and the placenta. The baby gets its oxygen from the mother by this supply and therefore does not need to breath while it is in the womb. Thus the respiratory system only needs to develop fully later in the pregnancy (in preparation for the baby being born - when it must take its first breath) and it is therefore not functional earlier. Babies born too soon have great respiratory problems.
A baby is called a neonate at birth, from the Latin words 'neo' for 'new' and 'natal' for born. Babies are considered newborns (neonates) for the first 28 days of life, and then they are simply classified as infants.
Baby mosquitoes are born in the water, and at the larvae stage they are called wrigglers.
A neonate is a newly-born baby, and neonatal is the adjective used to refer to anything (usually hospital-related) that is to do with newborn babies up to a few weeks of age.
Midwives, doctors and the parents of the baby.
Maternal antibodies may crossover to the fetus during gestation. When this happens, it is possible for the baby to be born with or develop neonatal lupus soon after birth. Neonatal lupus may range from mild to fatal. The most serious complication of antibody crossover is called heart block.
One unborn baby is called a fetus. More than one unborn baby in one mother's uterus are called fetuses. At the moment a fetus is born it is called a neonate-- or more commonly put, it is called a "baby" or "infant". But until it is born, it is a fetus.
A midwife. ******************** A midwife usually attends a mother during pregnancy and birth. If the baby is born in a hospital, it would be the neonatal, maternity, or motherbaby nurses, depending on the setup of the hospital.
A nurse who takes care of newborns is a neonatal nurse, or, a Baby Nurse.
care of infants in the new born or neonatal unit
Neonatal means newly born. The neonatal boy is one-hour old. Neonatal intensive care units save babies' lives.
There are three stages of labor, the first one is where the woman's water breaks and she starts having contractions which is the baby moving further down into the birth canal to get ready to be born. The second stage is the pushing stage, where the maternal instinct comes into practice to help the baby be born. Then, after the baby is born, the third stage is the afterbirth, which is the placenta removing itself from the wall of the uterus and coming through the same exit.
