In Pokemon Ruby how do you get stones?

Go to Cerulean city in Kanto (must have 8 Johto badges and defeated Elite four) and walk up nugget bridge then turn right. Navigate through the trainers until you see a house. enter it and talk to the old man. He will ask to see several Pokemon. The list below will tell what Pokemon to bring him and what stone you'll recieve. He will ask in this order;

Lickitung = Everstone(prevents evolution)

Oddish = Leaf stone

Staryu = Water stone

Growlithe = Fire stone

Pichu = Thunderstone

If you mean evolution stones, such as moon stone, fire stone, etc, then you can get through two methods:

1. You find it. (In pokeballs or random places.)

2. You can go to "Hunter's House" which is left of Mossdeep City. Just go to the far left of Mossdeep and surf northwest. You'll see this island with a house on it. There should be a sign outside the house saying "Hunter's House." Go in. Inside, there will be a guy who gives you stone for shards.

In order to find shards, you'll have to dive in areas around Route 124 and then surface in areas around Route 126. You'll see these pokeballs. Those should be shards. After you get the shards, go back to the guy. If you give him a green shard, he will give you a leaf stone. If you give him a yellow shard, he'll give you a thunder stone. If you give him a red shard, he'll give you a fire stone. If you give him a blue shard, he'll give you a water stone.

Moon stones can generally be found throughout the game. There will also be various people who will give you stones as well, like the sun stone.
