There are three burial chambers - one underground and carved into the bedrock. Then one aboveground originally named the queen's chamber. Finally the king's chamber which held a red granite sarcophagus placed virtually at the centre of the pyramid.

Legend recorded that there were secret passages under the Sphinx and archaeologists have in fact found three tunnels beneath it - #1- Under the head of the Sphinx. It travels inside the body for about 15 feet. #2 - In the tail and is about 30 feet long. #3 - Another is located on the north side The purpose of the tunnels remains a mystery but they date from the times of the pharaohs.

The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt is the largest of the original Seven Wonders of the World that is basically stilled in tact. This pyramid is an architectural feat that cannot be duplicated with our modern technology and advanced knowledge.

The Great Pyramid is composed of four triangular sides and a square base. It covered an area of 13 acres. The original height of the Great Pyramid was 485 feet, but due to erosion its height declined to 450 feet. Each side of the square base is 755.5 feet in length. The angle of the pyramid is 51 degrees, 51 minutes, and 14.3 seconds.

It consists of approximately 2.5 million blocks that weight from 2 tons to over 70 tons. The blocks on the top of the pyramid are from the same site and time period as those on the bottom. The stones are cut so precisely that a credit card cannot fit between them.

The Pyramids of Giza are wonders of the world. They have three pyramids and a servant complex. The stone pyramids are different because they were usually built as step pyramids.
