If you were a goth, you might enjoy bands like The Cure, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Sisters of Mercy for their dark and moody music that resonates with the goth subculture.
No, Flyleaf is not a goth band.
because of three band: joy division, siouxsie and the banshees and of course bauhaus. they introduced a style of music and look, their fans began dressing in fashion inspired by zombies and vampires much like the band members however fans dressed more elaborate. contrary to popular belief goth has nothing to do with nonconformity.
The songs they listen to are mock recordings of famous goth bands (Bauhaus, seen as 'Blauhaus' in a poster located in the goth girls room), and an industrial band called 'Skinny Puppy'. Because of the misconception of death metal=Goth, a lot of people assume the goth kids from the show listen to metal, but not once in the entire series do they mention metal, let alone listen to it.
Gothic Rock emerged from the post-punk scene in the late 70's - early 80's. The earliest exponents of Gothic Rock were probably Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, The Birthday Party, and Joy Division. Bauhaus arguably had the first defining goth rock song with their release of 'Bela Lugosi's Dead'
One might argue that in terms of chart success,Evanescence wasthe most successful overtly Gothic rock bands. For longevity and influence, it'd be The Cure, Joy Division, or Bauhaus. The earliest rock band with a Gothic tone is probably The Velvet Underground."Arguably", Evanescence is not goth rock, therefore Siouxsie and the Banshees or Sisters of Mercy would be more realistic alternative answers.
neither marilyn manson and slipknot are goth. marilyn manson is associated with mall goths or spooky kids, and slipknot is a nu metal band. however, you can totally be goth and listen to these amazing artists, you just have to listen to real goth music in addition to it such as the cure, the sisters of mercy, bauhaus, and siouxsie and the banshees. also, goth isnโt just music taste. itโs an aesthetic, a lifestyle, a way of thinking, and a general preference for dark things. hope this helps xx
Yes, the band and Brian Warner himself are all goth.
A true goth is a fan of gothic rock (Joy Division, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Siouxsie and The banshees etc) A true emo is a fan of Emotive Rock (American Football, Weezer etc)
Sure, evanescence is a very goth band so I guess the band members would be considered gothic too.
